Guidant Measurement Launches Sigma Core Measurement & Custody Transfer Solution
Bergen, Norway, October 14, 2026 — Guidant Measurement today announced the launch of Sigma Core, a new Measurement & Custody Transfer Solution designed for fiscal, allocation, and production measurement applications.
Part of the SigmaX Digital Operations Portfolio, Sigma Core combines a shared technology foundation with advanced functionality developed specifically for demanding measurement and custody transfer applications. The result is a scalable environment that connects measurement data, operational information, and supervisory capabilities to give operators greater visibility into measurement-critical operations.
“Customers are managing increasingly connected operations, but greater connectivity does not automatically translate into better operational insight,” said Dallas Mabry, Chief Executive Officer of Guidant Measurement. “Sigma Core brings the information operators need into one environment while building on Guidant’s deep measurement expertise. It is an important step in expanding how we help customers manage critical operations with greater visibility, control, and confidence.”
Purpose-Built for Measurement-Critical Operations
Advanced measurement functionality often requires separate applications or integration with conventional supervisory systems. Sigma Core brings these capabilities into one operating environment, helping operators manage measurement performance alongside real-time operational information.
Developed specifically for fiscal, allocation, and production measurement, Sigma Core includes meter proving and calibration, batch operations and reporting, flow supervision, K-factor monitoring and analysis, condition-based monitoring, gas chromatograph handling and benchmarking, real-time PVT calculations, and instrument and calibration management.
Sigma Core connects measurement data and operational information across flow computers, meters, analyzers, instrumentation, and related systems, providing operators with a unified view of measurement-critical operations.
It can also be deployed alongside Guidant flow computers as part of an integrated measurement solution, connecting field-level measurement with supervisory control and operational intelligence. Open integration capabilities support established industrial protocols, including OPC UA and Modbus, while flexible deployment options support Windows and Linux environments, as well as physical and virtual infrastructure.
Cybersecurity and availability are integrated into the solution through role- and group-based access control, comprehensive audit logging, encrypted communications, certificate-based OPC UA security, and dual hot-standby redundancy. Sigma Core is being developed and maintained with the evolving requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) in mind, including secure product design, vulnerability management, and lifecycle cybersecurity.
“Sigma Core was developed from decades of experience with applications where measurement accuracy, availability, traceability, and operational insight are critical,” said Sverre Smemo, Managing Director. “We have taken that measurement knowledge and built it into a flexible solution that brings measurement intelligence and operational insight together in one environment.”
Sigma Core is designed for measurement-critical operations across custody transfer, allocation and production measurement, terminals and loading operations, hydrogen, and other demanding measurement applications.
Sigma Core will be introduced at OTD Energy 2026, October 14–15 in Bergen, Norway, where attendees can experience the solution at Guidant Measurement Booth B-5046.
